Call for nominations of experts and fellows for the "Spatial Planning Assessment"
IPBES is planning a methodological assessment on the topic of integrated spatial planning (Spacial Planning Assessment), which will also take biodiversity and ecological connectivity into account. Experts and junior staff from science and practice can be nominated for this until the end of the year.

The Spatial Planning Assessment aims to evaluate the role of spatial planning in the conservation of biological diversity and the sustainable use of ecosystems. It examines how spatial planning and land-use strategies influence biodiversity and how they can be used to effectively conserve, restore and sustainably use nature and its contributions to people.
IPBES is looking for experts and junior staff from science and practice with expertise in the following areas: geography, ecology, conservation biology, spatial planning, urban planning, architecture. Knowledge of the application of spatial planning methods and related planning and management approaches in relation to biodiversity and the contribution of nature to people, as well as methods for promoting participatory approaches, is important.
