Co-production of knowledge and sustainability transformations: a strategic compass for global research networks

A new study reveals: With a strategic tool like the ‘network compass’ sustainability-oriented networks can help to foster co-production and collaboration among researchers and societal actors with the aim to adress complex sustainability problems.

The Network Compass

An increasing number of voices highlight the need for science itself to transform and to engage in the co-production of knowledge and action, in order to enable the fundamental transformations needed to advance towards sustainable futures. A new study published in Current Opinion in Environmental Sustainability investigates how sustainability-oriented networks can help to foster this co-production as they link different types of actors across various scales.
